# **Custom API**

**Custom API** is a programming framework developed so that you can program Netsipp with your own software. You can program your PBX according to your needs, communicate with your own web services and act on the keypad input of your incoming calls.

## **What You Can Do**

- You can **program** PBX behavior according to your own business rules.
- You can **communicate with your own web services** during the call flow and exchange data with your external systems.
- You can carry the **keypad input** pressed in the welcome menu on incoming calls into your own application and act on that information.

## **When It Is Used**

- In scenarios where you want your own application to decide how the call will proceed.
- When you want to look up information the caller enters, such as a customer number or order number, in your own system.
- When you need an integration of your own between the PBX and your in-house software.

## **Difference from Netsipp Webhook**

The two products do not replace each other; they do different jobs:

- **Netsipp Webhook** **notifies you** of events that occur on the PBX. It is one-way; you listen to the event, and it does not intervene in the call.
- **Custom API** lets you **program** the PBX. By communicating with your own web service, it allows you to act during the call.

If you only want to stream call events into your own system, Netsipp Webhook is enough. If you want your own application to decide the flow of the call, you need the Custom API product.

## **Getting the Product**

- You can reach the product catalog by following the **Marketplace** step in the left menu.
- Select the **Custom API** product to open the product detail page.
- Click the **Add to Cart** button to add the product to your cart and complete the payment steps.

***Note:** Custom API is a development product. Software development knowledge is required for setup and use.*
